New York – Soles4Souls, the global nonprofit creating opportunity through shoes and clothing, is teaming up with Partnership with Children (PWC) to host an exclusive shoe distribution event for PS 194 Countee Cullen Community School on Tuesday, April 21. PWC is an organization that strengthens the emotional, social and cognitive skills of NYC students through trauma-informed counseling, community-based programming and healing-based arts education.

This distribution event is a cornerstone of Soles4Souls’ 4EveryKid program committed to providing brand-new athletic shoes to students experiencing homelessness across the United States.  Data from 4EveryKid school partners shows that proper-fitting footwear for children allows them to attend school, participate in sports and stay active, which can lead to a brighter future. PWC currently serves 144 students at PS 194 through its programming, with more than 94 percent of these students identified as having high economic need or living in poverty.

During the event, Soles4Souls staff and volunteers will fit and distribute shoes to every student in attendance. This initiative is made possible through the support of Soles4Souls partners Famous Footwear and Caleres.
