Host a Back-to-School Backpack and Supply Drive

Nationwide, school supplies average about $114 per child, according to a National Retail Foundation survey of shoppers. Experts say school districts now have less money for supplies, forcing them to rely more on parents and donations for items such as markers and construction paper, cleaning supplies, tissues, copy paper and printer ink. While this is a hassle for middle-class parents, it is a much bigger burden for families who already struggle to meet everyday food and clothing needs. In many cases, teachers help fill the gap. A survey conducted by the Education Market Association last year found that public school teachers spent, on average, $149 of their own money buying school supplies and another $138 buying items like tissues, wipes, and paper towels in the 2012-2013 school year.

As Partnership with Children works to provide holistic supports to our children, families, and overall school communities, we are excited to host backpack and supply drive as our premier community investment opportunity for our volunteers and corporate partners. During the summer, corporate partners can help us provide backpacks and school supplies so that student return back to school prepared to learn! Corporate volunteers who participate in a Back to School Backpack and Supply Drive will go to a designated community school where they will pack and distribute backpacks to New York City students.

Sponsor a Holiday Toys and Supply Drive

The Holiday Season is a special time of year, especially for children. However, it can be very challenging for some families. The average household will spend over $1,000 shopping during the holiday season. This can be challenging for families who struggle to meet everyday food and clothing needs.

Partnership with Children’s Winter Holiday Toys and Supply Drive is an exciting community investment opportunity for our volunteers and supporters. During the holiday season, corporate sponsors can help us provide toys, cold-weather clothing and accessories, instruments, and books to New York City school children. Corporate volunteers who participate in the Winter Toys and Supply Drive will go to a designated community school where they will wrap and distribute items.
