Hurricane Sandy Update
Here at Partnership with Children, our thoughts are with those most deeply affected by Hurricane Sandy.
Partnership with Children’s downtown office re-opened and our programs in 25 partner-schools resumed on Monday, November 5. Our programs are fully operational and serving the needs of the 13,000 children who rely on us for support and counseling.
At the request of the Department of Education, we are also providing crisis intervention at 11 additional schools whose students, families and staff are experiencing displacement, trauma, and a disruption in essential services in the aftermath of the storm.
While members of our staff have endured their own struggles during this period, we are back at work doing what is most fulfilling to all of us: meeting the needs of the most vulnerable young people in New York and ensuring that children are safely in school and are ready to learn.
