Freedom Schools Students speak out against gun violence in Brownsville

Brownsville kids were at Betsy Head Park Monday calling for an end to gun violence in their neighborhood.
It was part of the Justice for Our Youth, or “JOY” event. Kids ages 5 to 11 years old filled the basketball courts to sing, dance, and read poetry all with the message of spreading love and ending violence.
The event is part of the Children’s Defense National Freedom Schools Curriculum, a seven-week summer program run by the non-profit Partnership with Children.
