The Atlantic highlights our successful partnership with PS 67
Partnership with Children’s work with PS 67 in Fort Greene was highlighted in a piece published by The Atlantic yesterday. We started working with PS 67 after they were identified by the city’s “Renewal” program as a low performing school. Our team worked closely with teachers and administrators to design and implement new support systems, tap into community resources, and increase parent engagement in their effort to turnaround school attendance and academic outcomes. Partnership with Children’s Community School Director for PS 67, Tal Bar-Zemer, shares some of her thoughts on why the collaboration was so successful: “In high-needs schools, teachers are the first line of defense; you’ll see them bringing in coats and food, trying to find legal help for families. We take the onus off of them so they can teach.”
