A Taste of the Good Life 2012
Partnership with Children’s Annual Wine Tasting, held on Tuesday, October 23, and chaired by Board members Stefan Zellmer and Anil Atluri, was a great success. We were honored to be supported by US Trust, a Grand Cru sponsor. Also on the Event Committee were Ian Broadwater, Alexandria Cubbage (Sommelier, Veritas Restaurant), and two of our Junior Board members, Sarah Dyer and Debbie Pham.

The evening’s activities, at the Level at the Metropolitan Pavilion, featured chefs from several well-known restaurants in the city including: Balaboosta; Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola; Dos Caminos; Grandaisy Bakery; Hill Country; Spice Market; and Tonnie’s Minis. There were numerous delectable bites; among them were roasted quail eggs, brisket sliders, fruit guacamole, mini cupcakes, and the ever-popular smoked salmon medley from Sir John Wincroft. Thanks to collaboration with Daniel Posner of Grapes, the Wine Company, wine authorities from ten different vendors were represented, showcasing selections from France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, and the United States.

Throughout the night, attendees bid on 19 auction lots donated from well-known vintners including a highly-collectible magnum of Chateauneuf du Pape 2003, as well as a private, in-home food and wine tasting experience with winemaker Alex Elman and Chef Brent Simms from Dizzy’s Club.
In her remarks, Partnership with Children’s Executive Director, Margaret Crotty, thanked all the guests and participants and said “This is an exciting period for Partnership with Children, and I am thrilled that so many friends could join us to celebrate at this very special event and show their support for our transformative work!”
