Partnership with Children’s Summer Quest Featured on NY1
Every day, we learn more about the social and emotional needs of children. Partnership with Children is focused on creating environments and providing counseling to help children who are faced with extraordinary difficulties related to poverty. Summer can be particularly difficult, given the lack of structure and the absence of programs that students rely on throughout the school year.
NY1 recently visited Summer Quest, a program that collaborates with Partnership with Children, at the South Bronx Academy for Applied Media in the Bronx. While the program helps students strengthen their academic skills, it also helps them prepare emotionally for the new academic year. You can watch the piece here. News12 Bronx also did a report from the field last week. You can read the article here.
There have been a number of reports recently on how the experience of poverty impacts a child’s ability to learn. Partnership with Children has long been focused on assisting these children by providing direct services as well as the counseling needed to help them emotionally deal with a wide-range of hardships associated with poverty. Beginning this fall, we will be sharing stories from the field that will help you understand better the importance of our work as well as the larger issues we confront.
